YTU Engineering Model Incorporated into an International Curriculum

A mathematical model developed by Prof. Dr. Kaan Yetilmezsoy from the Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, has gained international recognition and been incorporated into the curriculum of Marshall University (USA). Known as the “Type-3 Pipe Distribution System Diameter Estimation Model,” the methodology was originally published in a prestigious journal of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and attracted significant attention within the global engineering community. Following its extensive academic impact and widespread citation in the scientific literature, the model was adopted as an official teaching resource in the “CE 331 Hydraulics” course at Marshall University. This achievement highlights the international influence of research conducted at Yıldız Technical University and demonstrates the global educational value of innovative engineering solutions developed by its academic staff.
